Why People Have Low Self Esteem

Some people have develop doubts of themselves, of their self image and what they can do and what they cant achieve. This becomes a serious problem in their live as they grow up, a person with lack of self confidence is more likely to be taken advantage by other people and they get frustrated easily.

Low self esteem can be develop due to different circumstances in the live of a person. It begins in their childhood, the beliefs and values that a child acquire in their first years can shape the way he thinks of himself and his self image.

Parents play an important role in the develop of positive self image beliefs of a child and the values he acquires. If a child is constantly criticized for everything he does either good or bad, if he is beaten or if he is living in a home environment of constant fights, he will most likely develop low self esteem.

The school is also an important factor in the life of a child, if he has good relationships with his friends and teachers he will have no problem, but if he is embarrassed and people make fun of any disability or difference with everyone else he will have self esteem problems.

However, is not always external circumstances that cause low self esteem, sometimes self criticize can create negative beliefs in a person. A person that wants to be perfect in everything he does and is criticizing himself constantly will have that problem

There could be a number of other causes for lack of self confidence, a trauma in the life of a person, a loss of a love, social anxiety, an illness those are some other things that can create low self esteem.
