Students usually have many challenges in their adolescence they have to go to school and have good grades, but they are also in a stage of their life where new emotional problems are in their mind.
Some students may lack of self esteem due to different circumstances, maybe he dosent belief in himself and what he can achieve so his results in class are low.
But how can we strength students self esteem? First you need to tell them what are their capabilities as human beings. You need to make very clear that yes we all have our limitations, but most of those limitations are far away, we can achieve more than we can imagine.
The human mind has the power to achieve incredible things, if great inventors in history and great leaders had low self confidence they would not have achieve anything that has now shaped our world.
You need to tell your students that they might be afraid of failure and getting the work done and yes, they will fail a few times, but that is the way to success, if you never try, you will never achieve anything in life and you have to begin to practice that in school.
When a person fails, he knows one more way that doest work, so he is closer to the right way. Before the light was invented there were 10,000 ways that it didnt work, but at the 10,001 he had success and the light was invented. Imagine if the inventor had low self esteem and didnt want to try anymore at the 100 failure.
Also you need to tell your students that their thoughts create their results, if they have negative thoughts most of the time, they are not going to do much effort and they are going to fail. Positive thoughts have a powerful influence over the mind, the more you think and take action on what you want to achieve, the most likely that you will have success at anything that you do.
