Improving Low Self Esteem

There are people especially teenagers that have low self esteem, due to different factors or conditions in their life. The self image of a person is formed in the first years of their life, when they are with their family and in school.

There are many occasions where parents make the mistake of yelling at their child or criticize them for little things, sometimes without bad intention they create limitations in us. While we are growing we acquire beliefs and values from our school and parents.

Sometimes the beliefs we acquire are wrong or are self limitating. However, we have to be aware of those limiting beliefs that we have acquired and change them, we dont have to live we those beliefs all our life, in fact we should constantly challenge our beliefs and change them when necessary.

Increasing low self esteem is possible by following some principles and practicing some exercises. Its different in every case and every person.

Dont criticize your self for your mistake, every successful person in life has made many mistakes. Mistakes and failure are just a learning process toward success, just learn from your mistake and move on.

Dont worry about perfection, its better to get things done that to get them perfect, no one is perfect and can be very frustrating.

Change your negative thoughts for positive ones, we are what we think most of the time, if you have constant negative feelings and you are criticizing your self you will not achieve as much as you could.

Take risks, push your self forward, dont be afraid to try new things and learn something new, it will show you what you are capable of and increase your self confidence.

Give to others, help other people, make others feel great. If you help others either with your expertise, skills, time, money or friendship you will feel more self confidence and more people will like you.

Do some exercise, it is always good to do a sport or some kind of exercise that you like, in really help you maintain a balanced mind and body.

Enjoy life, have fun when you have the time, invite other people, express your feelings to people you like and love.

Those are some great ways to improve your self esteem and keep improving your life, you can achieve anything you want as long as you believe in your self, no one can tell you what you can or cant achieve except your self.
