He didnt believe that a worker was just motivated for self interest on making money or his own benefit. He was that women created a social environment that included the person that watched their productivity performance.
He found that when the workers had good relationships with their supervisor and the supervisor communicate with them and tell them the changes and current goals, the workers felt part of a team and had more self esteem.
So the motivation of people with in the factory was more that just economics, they were part of a social environment and they even meet outside of work to have a good time.
What that cause is that the employees were loyal and cooperated more, even if the supervisor took out his breaks at work, the productivity was better, due to the motivation and good social environment in the factory.
